Google Cloud Services Partner Ecosystem
Hyperscaler/cloud computing penetration has been robust during the last two decades, starting with the launch of AWS in 2006, Google Cloud (App Engine) in 2008, and Azure in 2010. We’ll examine the Google Cloud services partner ecosystem.
Each cloud computing platform partners with technology services organizations to help migrate workloads, heat their platforms, and increase overall adoption of their computing, storage, analytics, machine learning, and other tools. Google Cloud has over 3,000 service partners, from which we found relevant data on approximately 2,900 partners.
These 2,900 global Google Cloud services and consulting partners employ approximately 10,000,000 people. Company headquarters' footprint seems well balanced, with roughly a third of partners in North America and another third in Europe (North America and Europe generally account for 2/3rds of global digital transformation dollars). Similar to other partner ecosystems we have analyzed, Asia owns the lion’s share of employees, with 71% of team members employed for this group of firms.
More than half of the Google Cloud services partners have fewer than 100 employees. There is a long tail of smaller consulting companies with Google Cloud expertise.
